Our journey for this project began in December of 2012. We saw the opportunity to challenge ourselves and others to make a real difference in the lives of the innocent. Our intent was to choose a charity which truly worked for the benefit of children. It didn’t take long to choose Save the Children. This organization works diligently to help children through every possible avenue beginning at birth. From health and nutrition to education and beyond, Save the Children is a clear and consistent work advocate. We were staggered by the statistic that nearly 1 in 4 children in the United States live in poverty and goes without critical things such as healthy foods and safe places
to live and play.

Rotage decided to map out a course in which they will bicycle with musical instruments from Wilmington, NC to New York City (730 miles) performing in various cities and towns along the way to raise awareness and donations. They will be traveling without a backup vehicle, hauling their equipment and supplies via a bicycle trailer.
